Have i got it wrong??
Well, i can safely say that we now have the household flea problem under control
However, with no fleas on the cats, none left in the house (Nothing in traps now after a week) Rogue is STILL scratching herself raw!
It only seems to happen now when we're not around.... me and Mike both did the school run yesterday morning and came back to find that Rogue had opened up a huge sore on her back at the base of her tail!
Her skin is a bit scabby still, but with her not scratching and the regular malaseb baths it was really starting to get better.
Can seperation anxiety do this??? We've had allergy tests so its not her food.... we're on top of the fleas so i can't really think of anything else.......

like a gnat bite, a nasty bit could leave you scratching long after the gnat has gone.. mayby she just scratching the already irritated skin and it will soon calm down..

I had a similar problem with Titon, and given the malaseb shampoo and cream. (Forget the name)
In the end i used sudocrem and his irritation began to calm down. Sometimes and forgive me if i'm wrong their environment can cause irritations (Bedding, Grass, Hayfever) Titon has piriton tablets through the summer for his allergies, we don't know what they are all we know is it works.
I also shaved his fur off completely! Too late in the year to be doing that now mind but it helped with the daily application of the cream and grown back nicely for the winter.
Hope this helps in some way

I always wondered about using Sudocrem.. but i was just worried she would lick it off!
Maybe i'm fussing, i feel like i am but i kinda expected things to get a little better! Its kinda the self mutilation thing that makes we wonder about Separation issues, but we've brought her up to be ok to be left, and we haven't had a problem with it until now.
I'll give it a couple of weeks and see if her skin picks up, it feels really hot in some places (under her armpits and at the base of her tail mainly) wonder if thats the residual excema?

Couldn't advise on excema but i'm sure someone on here has experienced it.
yes tbh with the sudocrem we had to occupy him, we found putting it on before his walks worked well...then by the time he had walked and eaten i felt happy that it had sunken in but it takes a while! My black and tan shep went to a blotchy white mess
Rather you fuss than not fuss at all!

ah......
ok so how do i break the habit before i end up with a bald, scabby doggie?
I wish it was the summer and i could shave her, she's got scabs all up in her coat she feels really lumpy under her fur. i can see its just scab but i dont want to bath her too much as her skin is still sensitive.

I wonder if she's got what they call over here a "hot spot". Ella-Bella sometimes gets them. Does it ever get weepy? I have a cream that I put on it that contains a local anaesthetic.
