lost the plot
OMG Jack. There is something wrong with my puppy, he is NOT happy and I don't know what it is. Since we got back from our walk about an hour ago he has been literally going mad. thrashing around, digging up everything, biting his front paws and whining, throwing himself all over the place and whinging and panting like crazy. I thought he'd hurt his paw but I can't see anything, I've washed them all in salt water incase there is anything on them irritating him but its made no difference. I've had to put him in his crate so he doesn't hurt himself he's thrashing around so much. I know we had a thread recently about going to the vet too often but I don't care. This is NOT right and there is nothing I can do to relieve him. Have vet appointment for 7.30pm and now have wait (chain smoke) for nearly 2 hours! Am panicking he's been bitten by a bloody snake or something!

God knows Jen. I'm so worried. He's gone all lethargic now and breathing really shallow. The next hour is going to drag like mad. I'm sat in the crate with him watching him breathe :-(

How frightening. To be honest, if I were you I would ring your vet back and say you want to bring him in NOW! If his breathing is shallow and he is lethargic it could be something that can't wait.
Keeping everything crossed it is not anything serious, and that you get to see the vet soon.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your messages, after my last post I caved/panicked and took him straight down. She said his vitals are all fine and that it must be a severe allergic reaction to something but god knows what. She's drugged him up with as much as she can for his weight (19.9kg apparently, it was 17.5 3 weeks ago!) and he has pretty much flaked out as she predicted. Needless to say I will be watching him like a hawk and will stay up late until I'm satisfied he looks ok, failing that we either go back or I sleep on the sofa!
