Ehrlichiosis

While searching for answers as to what happened to my darling Ella-Bella I came across this on the internet and wonder if this is what Arch had too. I do use tick prevention all year round but it is not always effective.

Ella-Bella had many of these systems including bringing up yellow bile and it especially affects gsds.

I wish I'd known about this condition before.......

Yes it does and I'm making sure all my gsd loving friends know about it....

Not just GSDs - ehrlichiosis is the reason my daughter's old lab could not go to Australia with them - apparently she had a very high titre and if not treated (with a month of combined antibiotics) it will be fatal eventually. She was treated and her titre came down to acceptable levels but by them she was well settled here with my dogs so she stayed. Sadly we lost her last summer but she was nearly 15 and had more than three happy years with us.

So sorry to hear about your daughters Lab, although sounds like she had a great life with you until she passed.
