he loves his crate its all hes known as his bed since we got him, if you say to him bed then he goes in there, hes only left in his crate when i go out of the house, i dont work or anything so hes not left on his own, we do have another dog but he goes to work with my husband, hes very very immature for his age and i do know that they are slow to mature hence why hes not castrated yet. Arh i dont know, think its just gonna be one of those things, he only chews his bed he doesnt chew anything else which im very grateful for lol lol. It becomes an issue with me and my husband because of the money ive spent on him and hes eaten so its a touchy subject in the house, my hubbys under the impression of just to leave him without a bed, prehaps thats just the worrier in me that he needs something soft to lay on but i surpose you carnt force them to have something.

I've just invested in some carpet tiles for Isla's crate (going cheap at a closing down sale) and so far she hasnt destroyed them, in fact she shows very little interest in chewing them, as opposed to towels, blankets, beds, etc.
|
Thats a good idea, i'd try a offcut of carpet you can get small pieces that are cheap as chips from most carpet retailers but would avoid the foam backed type.

Would be interesting to hear how you get on with these.
My sister invested in a bed from Orvis as her BT destroyed every bed they bought. Orvis are expensive but the cost of all those destroyed beds soon mounts up... plus they have a money back guarantee. My sis reckoned that Barney lost interest in chewing his beds - normal ones, after the Orvis. He seemed to think that because the Orvis couldnt be chewed, nothing could be chewed lol! They still have it now, almost 4 years on! Have posted a link...

Welcome to the forum, nice to hear from you
Elbow bald patches are not just caused by hard surfaces,.. Kee has them, and there are more beds around our floors than we have dogs,... I wouldnt worry, if you do think that they look sore, and some do get very dry and can crack,...then some vasaline or simular rubbed in should be all thats needed

I don't have a chewer (sshhh don't tell him ).
He is only left in his crate if I am out of the house during the day, not at night but he hates his bedding. He pushes it out of the way and lies on the plastic because he is hot.
I would put some vaseline on esp when you are around so you can see he won't lick it all off in two minutes flat.
Good luck.
