spaying and behavioural changes.

Hello all,
I'm planning to get Maya spayed after her second season witch is due soon,I've read that some bitches could become more aggressive after being spayed, would like to know about your experiences and if this is true or not..there are so many different opinions on the internet ,is very confusing!thanks

I have only had males done and it as not affected their temperaments, you could see if your vet will try chemical spaying first and see if she changes - but if anything thought it would improve my bitches can be a bit temperamental at times of season

I don’t think she is likely to become more aggressive, but you will no longer have the behaviour changes which you have probably noticed prior, during and post season

There was no change at all when I had Kee done, and although Jazz was done just before I got her, she is also without any problems.. the only thing I found in connection with this is that you have to be more carfull with your feeding,..I find that spayed bitches tend to put on the weight much more easily

Anya was spayed early October and there have been no changes in her nature. She recovered very quickly and just as lovely. It was on her second birthday, what an awful mummy I am.

Only thing i can offer is that ours has been very very fussy with food, and even though its only 4 days since spaying, she has eaten anything and everything put in front of her and seems to want more. Think its probably too much of a coincidence to be any other reason other than the fact shes been spayed. Will be able to comment a bit more in due course.

sami is a jewel in the rough
Sami was no different after spaying and once she got over the op, she was quite ill before it was done urgently, she lost all the weight and never put any more on. In fact she always had a disgustingly perfect figure right up to the last.
