Ear wax

Hi,

Myers has really bad ear wax, the vet said it was nothing to worry about when he got his last injection. I bought ear wipes and cleaned his ears but within a couple of days they are covered again. It's not just one ear but both of them and you can really notice it since his ears are picking up. What would you do?

Thanks

Lynsey

Thanks Sarah, just another hurdle, he's a nightmare at getting his ears cleaned, too interested in trying to steal the wipes and run away with them. lol

we just use wipes a couple of times a day and really rub um out sometimes use drops but sometimes these just make her more aggitated and itches them more n makes them worse

just get him used to it and keep it up

Here is a receipe for cleaning your dogs ears :
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Use 2 crushed cloves in warmish water (not boiled) about half a pint.
  • Leave to stand for a few hours.
  • Wipe round with a cotton wool pad, or alternatively put 2-3 drops straight in the ear, & give it a gentle rub round like you would with the drops from the Vets.
  • Do this for a few days.

My poor Ella-Bella suffers with her ears quite badly mainly due to her thyroid condition. I wipe her ears out with cotten wool that's been in warm water. The only solution that worked and helped her ears for a longer period of time was steroids but this just throws her thyroid out.

I am using a new ear drop that has just come out - so will let you know whether it's any good. It's probably been out in the UK for years and has only just reached our shores!!
