Question Dog Training in north east england?

Hi I'm new here so I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but does anyone know of GSD training classes in this area. My parents have a lovely, but disobedient, 2 year old GSD and although they have been to training classes with him, they are struggling (they're both in their 70's) to get him to come when called after they've let him off the lead and also to come in at night. We thought that GSD specific training might be the answer. They used to take their previous GSDs to classes, but that was years ago. Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum
If you are interested in the Grimsby/Ashby cum fenby area then I know of a very good training school not specific to GSD's but have a few attend (my Kaiser goes there)

Thanks LUTGARD. Unfortunately we're north of there, more Durham or Sunderland. But thanks for your post. I think that's the thing, that there need to be some big dogs or other GSDs at the class, as the one he's been going to was full of small dogs.

I've not been to this club (no dog yet, but it's one I was thinking about checking out when I do get a gsd!)

North Eastern German Shepherd Dog Club

Might be worth having a look - I know they train somewhere near Seaham so not a million miles away from you.

Good luck and let me know what you think of the club if you do use them please!

Hi,

This might be a little late now but there is a GSD trainer that operates around Cramlington, Ashington area in Northumberland. This would be roughly about 40 minutes from Durham. She also breeds GSDs and is really good to chat to. Hope this helps.
