If she is too hyper, she isnt listening, so will come across that she doesnt know her name, take the excitement down a notch if you can, dont try training while she is in hyper mode xx

i do this anyway but still nothing unless she is sleepy!! thats why i was wondering if she was just being a stubbern GS or not??
any command i give is always "Cara.....sit/stay/paw ect" and she does the command fine but just not getting her name if she is in the kitchen and i say Cara (as in come here or so i know were she is)..... NOTHING yet if i go into her she comes running to me and starts fussing as if she hasnt seen me for ages and didnt know i was even there!! i just dont know what else i can do to get her to realise her name??? and now because i say it that much Tyson seems to think he is Cara so everything is just getting confusing and i seem to be getting no were with Cara knowing her name!!

If you just say cara, then she isnt aware that you want her to come, she thinks "cara what" if this makes sense, she will be aware you have called her name, but not what you want her to do, unless your say "cara come" etc, does that make sense xx

i defo know this!! lol if she is in play with Tyson mode we may aswell not even be here as she will not listeren for the life of us and the tiny bit of attention she does pay to us she is just barking at us!! so we dont even bother when its play time (unless VERY nessesary lol) but i mean she doesnt get her name is Cara at ANYTIME unless tired/soppy!! haha

totaly makes sence hun!! lol
but i mean the way i say it is a sort of high pitched "Cara" witch would get any sort of reaction from a normal dog but from her i get sweet F.A she doesnt even pick her head up to show "i have acknowledged what you are doing but still cant be arsed to move for you" lol there is nothing at all, unless like i say she is all soppy and in a loving mood then she knows exactly what her name is and reacts to it!! thats why i asked if she was just being a stubben s*!t?? lol

So she only gives acknowledgement when she is tired then she looks to you if you call her name, is this correct ? xx

Personally I mainly use the dog's name for recall. The dog's name before the sit, paw, down command isn't necessary, you just want the dog to do the desired action, afterall.
It's different if you want his/her attention before the command, but even then I tend to make a kissy noise.
The other times I use the name is if I'm walking both of them and one's pulling I'll say his/her name but in a deep voice, so they know it's them I'm correcting. And talking to my dogs if I'm greeting them.
