Dog 'trainer' breaks leg of puppy

Saw this story today:

Rogue 'dog trainer to the stars' who claimed to have worked with Bruce Forsyth's pets is given suspended sentence | Mail Online

This is taken from the above:

"Chanin, actually a Heathrow Airport aircraft engineer who has no dog-training qualifications, took thousands of pounds from clients for 12 week obedience courses.

He claimed he had been a judge at Crufts and told custumers that dogs he had been employed to walk were actually police dogs which were trained to kill.

During his obedience sessions he would use a 'trapdoor' technique - picking the dogs up off the ground by their collar and beat them around the face with a rolled up magazine.

On one occasion a dog was thrown across the room and landed on a coffee table."

"Explaining Chanin's traiing methods, Mr Elton said:'On one occasion during his courses, in attempting to teach a puppy to kneel down, he laid on it with his full weight and snapped his femur.

'He would also roll up a magazine and batter dogs around the face, using it as a cosh.
'Many of the people questioned the techniques, but accepted that if it was good enough for Bruce Forsyth then it was good enough for them.

The fraud was exposed after one client - a former dog handler - became suspicious and contacted trading standards.

Chanin ran 12 week dog obedience courses which cost £1,000 but no client successfully completed them."

Make sure you NEVER allow any trainer to do anything you are unhappy with.

Always attend classes first without your dog - only take your dog along when you are happy with the way they train/handle dogs.

Always check out any recommendations/qualifications are true.

NEVER think that any trainer 'knows everything about dogs' - indeed if anyone tells you that run a mile!!! A good trainer is always learning.

I dread to think how many dogs lives this man and his girlfriend have ruined and how many have ended up in rescue centres or been put down because of their 'training'.

DelsMum has a spectacular aura about
Jesus christ. I don't know whether I am more suprised that 1 people actaully fell for that or 2 he didn't get seriously bitten. If he went at Jerry Lee with a magazine like a cosh not only would I bloody kill him, JL would definately bite him and he'd deserve it too.

Its totally irrelevant but Liam Gallagher lives near me and he and his wife have a miniature sauage dog, not 2 rotties, but I'm sure the sausage dog is an excellent security dog.............

What I don't understand is why the hell anyone would pay over a £1000 for a 12 week training session!

More money than sense.

I think, reading between the lines, that it was something like a personal protection dog training - that is why he talked about training GSD's and Rotties.

Amazing what people will pay for a 'guard' dog to be 'trained' - most guardian breeds will do it naturally!!

You never hear of an Anatolian Karabash or a Maremma etc. having to be trained to do their natural jobs!

These people are still 'training' dogs so anyone in that area be aware of them!

This is from an article in another paper:

"In total, Chanin and Kahane, of Netherhouse Court in Church Crookham, made about £6,000 from the bogus training courses."

Hopefully they will soon go out of business (cannot see them getting off lightly when they used Liam Gallagher's name without his permission ).

Frankly, HE should be picked up and thrown across the room at a coffee table.
