Training Bailey

[Bailey had fantastic day today as far as his training goes so I thought I'd share it, he recently started puppy training again at a new class as the trainer wanted to put him through again rather than straight into adolesant to see at what level he is at and nick another 60 quid of us.
He is quite good at the normal commands, and although Lynne takes him at the class I do his big daily walk/run/training session.
I take him a very busy intersection known locally as Shootershill lights with huge grassed area surrounded very busy roads. This is done delibrately as the area is not fenced of so there are no dogs running off leads and also very noisey, buses/lorries/emergency vehicles so theres loads of distractions. So I have developed a sequence of signals along with a shouted command, he starts off running around like a lunatic on a 75 foot lunge line which I shortened from 100ft so he cannot reach the roads.
As he tires I start to practice the normal sit/down/stay/stop/recall commands gradually increasing the distance and the volume of my voice.
On this particular occassion he had taken the leash out to its fullest and I could see he was about to sit, so I gave him the signal to lay down, (no verbal command)which he did! I then gave him a recall signal, which by clapping my hands he turns into a sprint towards me then the stop/sit/down signals which Bailey carried out to perfection, this dog is far to clever for me :
Perhaps he should go to work and I should stay at home and bark at the postman
