People who think they know it ALL!
Well as you guys know Bonnie is a vocal lass and doesnt much like people, which we are working on
We went for our afternoon walk and came across a wee 2yr old Lab and her owner, Bonnie was so well behaved. She played with 'Honey' and only had one moment were she wasnt playing nice and that was only because Honey took her ball lol, I told her 'leave it' and she did, the owner told her dog to drop and Bonnie walked over and took it back! She was nice to the owner and even accepted a treat ..... so proud!
THEN
We go on our evening walk, walking up the road and she barks a few people who are standing together at the gateway of their garden, so we do the about turn and walk back when calm... did this a few times but all the while the woman is calling its ok just bring her past but Im trying to explain to them that Im trying to teach her some manners
She is eventually calm so we start to walk past, one of the guys comes out of the gate and telling me 'I know the breed, she is only guarding you and your son, Ive bred these for years etc etc' well in the meantime Bonnie starts again so Im trying to walk away and he is right up in her face, bending down to her arm streched out to her with a closed fist. Im telling him please ignore her, dont look at her and turn away but he keeps on about how he knows what he is talking about, IF YOU BLOODY KNOW THEN PISS OFF YOUR MAKING HER WORSE!!! Bonnie is getting so fed up by this point and she has her mouth over his fist, not biting him just mouthing.... like a warning?? It could have easily been so much worse which was all his fault! I couldve ended up with a PTS woofa because he thinks he knows everything!!!!! I was so mad, the pavement I was on was narrow and there was a car parked half up on it so when he came out he was blocking our path so getting away was awkward... so ended up having to go back the way I had came to get away!
Im trying to do the right thing and be a responsible owner by training her what is acceptable and people like that plonker go and ruin the progress Im making with her grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a friend like that he trains gundogs and when I got rowdy it was all " well by now he could do this, do that if he was trained properly!" I kept saying that we are in progress with him and that I don't want him trained to the extent of gundogs as their not taught to play and have fun. Well now when ever he sees him he tries commanding him like his dogs and rowdy doesn't take one bit off notice to him! So he ends up muttering under his breath but loud enough for me to here " if he was my dog..." it's so Unwanted!!!

Sadly theya re everywhere!!!! all you can do is avoid them the best you can and sometimes just tell um to Sod off lol!!!
I had a similar problem where a woman was letting ellie play rough with her and mouthing her (we had big problems with ellie mouthing) and then sure enough the next day i had a cardigan on and every time i went to stroke her head with the cardigan over my hand she was trying to mouth me!!!! Luckly i was able to get her back on track quick enough as she respects what i say but that could of easily undone months and months of hard work!!! But "oh its ok my dad bred GSD's and i have grown up surrounded by them" GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr lol

If this guy was a genuine breeder (well respectable one anyway) then fair enough he would probably have a good understanding but this guy was a nobody who doesnt have a clue about what is involved in breeding, what he probably does is get himself a few dogs mate them and end up with pups to sell.... NOT A BLEEDING CLUE!!!!

There's always some know-it-all or knob head, as I call them, who think they know best! Bonnie's reaction doesn't sound aggressive at all - she just 'took' an object forced in her face - the guy's fist! Mouthing shows control on her part, a measured response... She could have reacted very differently but didn't, bless her.

Its sooooo frustrating, especially when we had such a good afternoon! and especially when she is going through this phantom pregnancy AND she has the runs too poor wee lass.
I was so happy that she had calmed too after only turning away a few times, she is getting better already and seems to be getting the message that if she barks then we walk away and then BAM this guy acts the fool..... if a big dog is coming at me barking, Im walking away NOT staying to prove a point that I know better!!!! Im really glad it ended well though and she didnt react differently

When out walking with Jazmin, we do sit stand and down at the curbs, waiting for all the road to clear, always point both ways so she looks, don't think she knows exactly what she's looking for,we always go when there is no traffic. Some people peep and smile and wave us across, I smile leave Jazmin in sit ,stand or down, and say politely, no thank you she's in training.Might sound silly to drivers, but I don't want her to go near cars especially when the engine is running. You would think I'd smacked them in their face, some rev up shaking their heads. What is the saying "nowt stranger than folk".

I do exactly the same , completely agree with you, the road will be clear sometimes and when i was teaching this, I'll wait until rowdy is sat but by then there's cars and people look at you as if you could if gone minutes ago, shaking heads, but ill always wait for him to sit

Bless sounds like she is making good progress tho ... people just dont understand sometimes , I have it all the time especially with the horses , I hate taking them out on the roads even tho we are in a quietish village ,and do it very rarely , a very nice lorry driver stopped and turned off his engine for me today I waved and mouthed thankyou and waited , just a few more seconds ..... hang on everyone ....car behind beeps at me and driver shouts out the window " go on then love he's f###ing stopped hasnt he !!!! " 3 , 2 , 1 there it goes .....loud hissing noise and crank sound as he lorry's air brakes go down , I thank the lorry driver again who waves back , thank the driver behind who is still swearing at me and calmly walk Midnight past . The car revs his engine and tears past me actually hitting my stirrup with his wing mirror he's so close !! He speeds off down a narrow lane with a sharp bend only to be met by 3 tractors coming the other way !! I have to admit I did actually chuckle to myself as he then had to reverse all the way back past me and the lorry Lx sorry gate crashed again must stop doing that !! just meant people arent all bad just ignorant sometimes
