Fun Agility (Without Jumps!!!)

I really want to do more with Otto. He has boundless energy and loves going to "school" on a Friday afternoon

At our training class, he has had a go at tunnels, walking over a plank, weaving in & out of cones and he loves it (especially tunnels lol). I've chatted with our trainer and unfortunately, although she is a qualified agility trainer (and used to breed and work GSDs), the hall we train in isn't suitable for agility so she has given me the number for someone who does agility classes. She said to mention how old he is & that he shouldn't do any jumping until he is at least 18 months old (although she said he should be OK to go over poles about 6 inches high as he can just step over these).

I was aware that it should be about 18 months before they should even attempt jumps but does anyone think they shouldn't do it until they are older? There is NO WAY I would allow him to do anything that could cause him issues in the future!!!!!

Anyway, I'm supposed to be talking to the lady tomorrow so would appreciate any feedback on anything else I need to mention / ask. Does anyone else do fun agility with their dog?

I'd also love to hear if anyone can recommend any clubs etc. in our local area that we could join? I've tried having a look on the internet and apparently there is a GSD club in Blackpool but I can't find any information out about them

Otto is just shy of 10 months but I'm hoping that they will still let him try the stuff that is safe for him
