Angie has a spectacular aura about
Molly's first day at school!

Well... Molly attended her first puppy class last night! We just went along to take a look but ended up taking part It was only a small room with about 8 puppies and their owners plus 3 attendants. Mol hid under my chair for the first 15 mins or so but gradually got brave enough to venture out and sit by my feet. She gently nosed a couple of other puppies but scooted back to me if any of them initiated play. She soon got the confidence to follow me around the room to do heel work which she did beautifully.

It was funny that the owners were being told to get their puppy's focus back on them, which was a mammoth task for some of the owners, it was puppy mayhem!!!! Because Molly is so shy her gaze rarely broke mine and she did everything I asked of her, I was so proud of her.

I thought she'd be absolutely exhausted when we got home..........how wrong could I be!!!! She was like a whirling durbisher! Absolutely hyper for about an hour It was like she'd tried sooooo hard to be on best behaviour all night that she had to let it all out when we got home

I'm trying a different training group on Sunday, then I'll decide which one fits best with me and Molly. If I like that one as well and the training techniques are similar, do you think it'll confuse her to attend both? As you know at puppy class it's the most basic of basic training (which Molly has got), but I want her to experience the socialisation of puppy play more often than once a week. I'd be interested in your views x

Aww what a sweetheart, so glad your first session went well, I look forward to hearing how the other class goes and which one you decide to join.

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
What a star!

If you like them both, and the training methods are the same, then going to both won't do any harm. If there's any difference in the methods, though, you'll confuse her & you'll have to choose between them.

Agree with Caryll about the training methods. Be great if they're both the same!

It would be great. To be honest, I didn't get to see what the main class of 'graduates' in the other room were doing, the puppies were segregated in the nursery so I'm still not sure how they approach the more serious training. It doesn't really matter to me at this stage of the game because the puppy class is all I'm interested in for now (lots of play, fun, coaxing and positivity). I'll see what the club on Sunday has to offer (it's a GSD club) and take it from there. A decision may have to be made though when (or IF) Molly needs the next class up.
