Hhhheeeellllllpppppp

Guys I don't mind saying I need some help

Zennie is just getting too rough sometimes, + he's not taking too kindly to being told what to do

What I do with my dogs won't work here + whilst he largely does as he's told it's when he gets rough with Hera + won't stop.

I don't want to make the matter worse so need some advice please

HHHHHEEEELLLLPPPP

Tut tut, norty Zennie not listening to aunty Tracey?! What have you tried hun?

Get in with some obedience commands. Make him do summat to put focus back on you. Is he bored, does he need to burn off some energy do you think?

What do you mean 'gets rough'?

Don't forget that if she is in season, she may be winding him up to come and 'play' - or she may be just telling him that she is not ready for mating yet!

I would give them 'time out' from one another if the play gets too much.

Try not to be too 'on their case', both their worlds have been turned upside down in the last couple of weeks.

Also you never know what connections Zennie may be making - suddenly when Hera joins the family, Gloria is out of action, and then you appear!!!!

Are they getting their usual (off lead) exercise?

Sue

Hi there Tracey

Dont Panic!!!!!!

I would suggest taking Zennie out for a walk on his own and do a bit of obedience while you are out with him, treats as well if he is in to that. I wouldnt let him off the lead, 2 reasons , dont think you can trust him and also it might help him realise you are in control of him not the other way round!!

Try to stay calm, ignore him a bit, it will make him wonder what the hell is going on and what he is doing wrong.

Hows Gloria doing?

Tracey

I can't add any more to what's already been said, time out is a good option and maybe walking them separately to build a relationship with them both is a good idea.....xxx

Thanks for your help everyone, haven't had chance to get on here all day I've had my hands full phew

It's got better YYYEEESSSSSSSSS

It's a combination of lots of things. Zennie has been an absolute nightmare but has calmed down loads. He's still a bit of a chancer but he's doing what he's told now.

Sue what I mean by rough is standing over her, grabbing her neck, snarling not just growling, pinning her down, + just not giving up. It's been relentless Zennie in everyone's face. If we're eating he's in your face, he stands in front of her + me eyeballing, won't let Hera lie still on her own for 10 seconds

I've got 2 SBTs + I know what rough play is but this was far more than that

I've been doing some basic obedience sit/down/etc for treats + distracting him + it's helped. Now Gloria is sat downstairs + I'm carrying on distracting, feeding them etc + we're almost back to normal. I popped out to get a prescription + a bit of shopping earlier + Glo said they didn't settle for ages when I'd gone so he must like me a bit

Sorry for war + peace but I was at my wits end this morning. I now feel far more in control. Hera is going to vet tomorrow to restart her jabs + a check up, she's definitely not in season but a bit under the weather. I'm going to do some one on one walks tomorrow + Zen will not get the better of me on a walk if it takes all day

Really appreciate you all, thank you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
