VERY cool, but one question....
how do you NOT stand on your dogs feet??!!
three times i've tried heel-work with Rogue and each time i stand on her feet, she yelps... and sulks!

Walking powerfully and with intension helps. The dog responds to how much energy you're putting into the heelwork. When she's not so concentrated and I'm just walking around normally with her sometimes I tread on her feet but never when she's in work mode and powering along

Its worth another try
Pity, Rogue does not have 'work mode'
she has 'sleep mode, eat mode, lazy mode and mad mode'
Mad mode lasts about 15 minutes before pushing towards Sleep mode. I think i have the laziest German Shepherd, EVER!

Well it can be an uphill struggle if the dog isn't bred for work! I would never be able to get that with my old Staffy Hooch, who's only modes are 'sleep mode and TIME FOR CHEESE MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
...he really loves cheese.
Is your dog from show lines?
