Hi, it sounds like you are getting this under control nicely now.

I was told with Lukey at his first puppy class (11/12 weeks) to do the same, say OUCH and remove him for a min or two. He learned almost immediately. When they are young I don't think the exclusion has to be long at all, I think it is the 'consistency of your response' that is most important and that of all family members.

Hope you are all feeling much happier now it is being sorted.

Yes you need much more structure with the way she is being handled at the moment. Pushing, calling, Owwwww...ing - you really need to just take hold of her and give her a "time out". DO NO let her back in if she cries. I often have to give Darick a "Time Out" (He know what it is) and if he cries at the door I will wait until he has gone to lie down quietly before he is let back in. If he gets REALLY over the top, or it is raining, he has a "time out" in his crate.

If I were dealing with this situation I would make her wear a long line indoors and when she lunges or goes towards your husband, be on the other end of it. Pull her away and reinforce with which ever command you want to use "No bite" etc.
You may have to do this many times before she gets the message but keep using the same word and method and she will learn.
I used this method to stop my pup lunging at my cats and it worked but it took weeks.
Make sure that your husband does not play roughly with her but get him to do some basic obedience with her and use lots of rewards when she gets it right (again on the long line if you must). GSD's can learn the basics like sit and down at a very early age, and even if she knows it, get him to do it with her regularly.
Have patience, she will stop it eventually. x

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to reply and give me some much needed advice with Lola. I know it's going to be hard but I now feel much more equipped to deal with it thanks to the help I've received, I will keep referring back to the tips although typically she hasn't joined us in the living room tonight yet and is flat out asleep laid at the back door

Debs please let us know how she goes on generally (and pics of course as we love em).

I needed and asked for advice with Lukey (our first shep) and I still would for his wellbeing and that of my family. It is good that there is a lot of knowledge on here (I'm quite new) and that it is shared because people want to help as they love the breed - and all doggies of course

Linda x
