Canine behaviourist?
A friend of mine is in need and I haven't got a clue.
What type of membership or credentials should she be looking for to ensure they are fully trained and up to scratch?
Also, roughly how much can she expect to pay per hour for such services?

I would recommend your friend asks her vet as they usually know of reputable people to contact.

Yes there are some really cr*p ones about. Where is she based?
From personal experience I would avoid the clever dog company even though they are all qualified up to their necks.
Whats the problem, does she def need behaviourist or just a really good trainer?
She can expect to pay around/up to £100 for an hour

She is in Essex and has a variety of problems, mostly anxiety based as far as I can tell.
I was wondering if there was any recognised body or association that she can look for membership of or letters after the name etc.
I know they vary as do all things and I have asked her to enquire at vets and around her area too.

Might be worth checking out some of the training clubs close to her as in many cases they might be able to help. Other than that look for Assoiciation of Pet dog trainers, however be very careful with behaviourists even if they are "qualified" as many are not worth the paper their qualifications are printed on taking £100's for consultations and giving useless advice, try and find someone who is recommended and is prepared to have a chat over the phone prior to you deciding to book an appointment.

I live in Essex....
And I know just the man...
Dog Training in Essex - You don't need to live with a problem dog - We can help
Speak to Andy, he really is amazing... Jackson would have been a nightmaer had he not told me what I was doing wrong.
