Sheep Chasing Poodles - Rehabilitated :)
This pair came to us for residential training after they accidentally escaped their garden and actually killed a neighbours sheep. The owners were very upset
They're both around 4 years old and neither of them knew any obedience whatsoever upon arrival. We've taught them sit, down, heel, wait and, of-course, not to chase the bloody sheep, in 4 weeks!
The Gold one is going home tomorrow and the Black one goes home on monday to give the owners some breathing room and get used to training one first.
Very very satisfied with this pair
Its been hard.

Well done Ash, it cant always be easy when you are dealing with a strangers dog that has grown up with bad habits,...its not like they are your dogs and have been learning all their lives,..so very impressive.
almost as good as my dogs,...lol
Out walking today all three off lead, and we came upon a group of deer, met them down wind at about 30 feet distance, all five took off at pace, all I said to mine was leave in a normal voice, and all three stood and watched them go,...dont get me wrong, they wanted to go,... but they would not go after being told to leave

Its fun being a pack leader! Having control of one dog is one thing, having control of a pack is a whole new level of satisfaction

Your training is probably already the answer to my question but it's one people keep drilling into me with mine where we live.....
It's amazing watching dog's doing training and how much they thrive on it!
Well done Ash

I am reading all about being 'pack leader' at the moment. Sounds simple but putting it all into practice is another thing.
Great video Ash, as always
Must be a good feeling when you can say leave to three dogs and they take notice, Stuart. Wonderful.

One of our friends who is a dog trainer says he always turns people away if the dogs have actually killed the sheep. If they've just chased he will help, but not if they've killed.
I personally think thats nonsense. But just incase we're doing house visits over the next couple of days and taking them into the field where they committed the crime, to make sure they're ok with their owners.
Fingers crossed!

I would say good luck right now, but i have every confidence neither you or the two dog's you've trained will need it. I just wish you lived a lot bloody closer!

The chase i can totally agree with and luckily i have never given them the chance to even do that! I thought it strange because feeding raw they get lamb anyway and however clever they are i can't see them making a connection with a lamb shank and a fluffy sheep!
Right i'l get off your thread now Vislor
Thanks you two!
