Hi & welcome to the forum. Where are you situated?

I know that when I was in San Francisco ther were doggie day care centres all over the place! I think there are one or two in the UK, but I don't think there are many.

As to whether they're good or not, it would all depend on what qualifications in dog care the people running it have, what sort of conditions they are kept in & what sort of supervision they have.

It would be no good for my dog because he's super-dominant & wouldn't tolerate having lots of dogs around him.

I can see the benefits if your dog is sociable and loves being around others.....perhaps a visit to the centre to check it out is worthwhile though.

I think we have a dog creche near us but it would work out expensive to use all the time. I would check it out in person (they shouldn't mind if you ring them) could be OK. I think the one we had/have was set up responsibly.

We run doggy day care for a few dogs at our place, its great! They have a good run around the field, as well play with us and the other dogs if they want to. If we're not too busy we throw in a bit of basic obedience training but most of it is just exercising them and making sure they're having fun

We're not on a big commuter route so we don't get too many but its nice with the few we have got.

I think this is becoming more popular. There are at least two in my town.

I also noticed that in America there are much more pet centres. They are starting to get more and more popular in the UK.
I still personally prefer to find a petsitter.

They are becoming much more popular, I'd go for a visit and see what it's like. Don't take your dog and just drop in so you really get to see what they are like when your unexpected. I'm very particular about stuff like that and I think these places could be a god send but I also think they could be hellish if your dog just get flung in a room and left to its own devices with other dogs and let out for a pee once or twice.
