Luika is in detention!
I think you all know about Luika having cow hocks, and the various advice we have been given on exercise.
Well, he has now reached his lager lout stage (I was considering buying him a Man Utd shirt lol), and barking at each new dog he meets. I do think its a lack of being around other dogs that has made him worse, so we knew we had to act now.
Originally, we had hoped to book him in with Mic Martin, but since he does a lot of film and security work and now, we decided to take Luika over to the centre where Mic works, with Richard (the judge from Dog Borstal). We arrived on Thursday last week and Luika started his usual 'don't mess with me' routine, and was speedily taken away by one of Richard's helpers.
We have been assigned a really lovely lady who is going to work with us and Luika, but having spoken to us at length, she feels that we are actually doing everything right, and that his barking could be the result of his cow hocks and lack of exercise.
We are going again tomorrow, so I will keep you in touch of our progress.

I hope it helps. We had the same probelm with Sophie she would bark at every dog she met since we have been going to training classes each week it has pretty much stop other than at occasionly at small rat like dogs (one attacked her she lay on her back crying) stangley enough though she is fine with our rats!

I can't wait to hear how Luika gets on, sounds like he'll be a model doggie by the time this is finished.

I am amazed at how quickly Luika responds to gentle training.
What I love about the Barking Mad training school is their different approach. The fact that Luika is exposed gently to other dogs has been a real benefit, since at our regular training school, it is full on.
We have already been implementing the changes and he is doing so well. Just a little hiccup yesterday when he was in the car and spied two dogs walking towards the car. His barking was quite deafening. He also couldn't resist jumping up at the Postman yesterday either - little sausage
