Flicka's Progress

Hello all, I know its a long time since we posted here. My little Flicka is doing well. As her proud mum I wanted to post a picture of her Good Citizen Silver Award last monday. She is the GSD on the far right.
Regards, Kirstie.

Nice dog, shame about the handler! Lol! No really she is great. Still really cheeky, she is neally 20 months. One day I may even get enough attention to be placed at a show.............but I'm not holding my breath! But above all she is MY baby! A totally different dog to Karleigh. What I really want to say is through all the worries we had with he getting the jitters as a pup she really shines brightly now and her confidence and mine have really come on.
Cheers Flicka!

My sentiments exactly. Karleigh, Flicka's predecessor was fantastic but I think that was in spite of me not because of me! Karleigh and I originally began training classes but being the youngster I was I got embarrassed and gave up. The breaking point was a recall exercise on christmas when I called her as she came bounding forward like a cartoon dog, legs spinning but going nowhere. When she did get a grip she ran straight past me to the lady with the food/treat table at the back where my then boyfriend now husband was standing. I as a shy eighteen year old was mortified and so embarrassed I never returned! She always was a Daddy's girl!
So with Flicka I said it would be different and all those 'tricks' I saw all the more experienced dogs doing..... sendaways...... scent etc, my baby does with gusto I am a very proud mum!
I hope one day she will keep enough attention on me to do a decent round in pre beginners LOL! Well, we never know what 2009 will bring.
Good Luck with your training as a dogs capacity for learning is fantastic and great fun.
