New experiences for Diesel!

After a somewhat disaster of a holiday - loads more focus training and socialisation for Diesel!

We have now been to 2 mad and large UK Dog Agility events - Diesel absolutely brilliant, also 2 dog shows - and another event this weekend coming.

Yesterday the first challenge was - the cashpoint Previous attempts have resulted in barking at people in the queue and really anxious behaviour so I couldn't let one hand go to use the damn thing! Today however - no reaction at all! he was even quite interested in the noise it made (the head on one side thing!) and didn't bother when a lady with a pushchair was right next to me!

Challenge 2 - the pub!!! I was sooo proud of my boy - when we first got there he started to react a bit anxious but I grabbed the halti and quick marched him past all the tables - didn't even see the nasty corgi hiding under a bench until it lunged!! Diesel didn't react at all! Yipee!

We sat down - he lay down had his water bowl and I even got to order and eat a meal! he didn't react at the waiter or a couple of blokes who came over to see him and make a bit of a fuss of him

I did get a nasty look form one woman when I told her child that she wasn't to stroke him???? (I have never had Diesel around children) but he didn't even react when they were running around past him!

The final bit walking him through the pub on the way out - not one step wrong!! I am so pleased!

Lets hope its not a one hit wonder!

That's great progress Gail; bet you're chuffed.

Remus is ok with things where there's lots of people, events etc but freaks out at random things like a discarded umbrella in the woods!

Sully Monster will become famous soon enough
Brilliant new Gail. Sully used to be somewhat of a git at cashpoints and even had one poor woman teetering on the kerb to stay away from him, altho he is not too bad now luckily.

He can be a bit of a git at times but like you I try to take him to various places altho i have not been brave enough to try the pub yet so well done you!!!

Gail this is brilliant news, sounds like you're making progress!!! You must have felt so happy when you could order a meal in the pub.

Thanks everyone - yes I am very pleased that I actually got a meal but obviously had to get some cash out in the first instance lol!

My friend wants to go out with us (Diesel & I) again as she has never spoken to so many blokes asking about my dog hee hee!!

LOL....it sounds like he was better around the cash point though, at least you managed to get some cash..lol....

PMSL....yeah it's amazing how many people want to talk to you when you have a GSD, obviously apart from the minority that are terrified.
