Marley 13 weeks

we collected Marley yesterday and took him straight home.we then got our 8yr old border terrier Bob and took them for a short stroll.they were fabulous together.
i am so impressed with Bob,he has been wonderful so far.
he has played with him and lay with him and even barked to tell us he was pining during the night(even though we couldn't miss that!)

Marley was very upset last night.he settled, after cryiong and barking and jumping at the gate and throwing the water bowl everytime, about 12 for 2 hours thendid the same again and had another 3 hours.he woke at 6am and we went down after 20 mins to let him out and at 7 took them for a walk then fed him at 7.30.

i am wondering because they ar egetting on so well if we might be better putting them in the kitchen together tonight in the hope that it's company Marley is after.i feel preety hapy that the thye won't harm oneanother,my other reason for not putting them together was the puppy bothering the dog but the dog seems to be very happy to help him wherever he can-bless him.the dog was distressed at the noise the pup was creating so what do you guys think????

Tedsmum will become famous soon enough
I think this has got to be a decision you make based on your knowledge of the older dog.
There are many who would say it is not a good idea to leave them together as the older dog could easily become irritated by the pup etc. and I know that there are folk on here who will never leave their dogs alone together even when adults.
Personally I would want to leave it another few days but you could perhpas put the pup in a crate but in the same room as your terrier. That way they could be together but safe from each other too. x
