She just isnt right.

Hi all im new, have a GSD female shes 4 years old this month.
I have just moved into my own place with my partner (4wks ago) and Kiba (my gsd) has moved in with us, when we first moved in she was fine, playing etc you know the normal things a dog does. But now she has become real unsettled and wont be left alone, doesnt seem herself and I have recently noticed that she stares at the wall ive tried to play with her to stop it but she dont seem interested.
She has always been a funny dog ie: doesnt like other dogs and not really all that friendly but since living here with us she has bitten our window cleaner on the bum and arm, but thankfully he was ok and didnt mind and isnt going to take it further.
I need to know what i can do to make her more settled and calm her down alittle anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

Got to the vet and get her checked out before you do anything else. It's PROBABLY the stress of moving and settling back in but its better to be safe that sorry. IME when dogs are sick or uncomfortable they behave strangely for example my Del is going through the mill with a shoulder problem atm, he's usually bombproof but as he knows he's not well and feeling rough he has started guarding himself and his shoulder, spooking at people and generally being a bit weird!

Thanks, been to the vets today but they did'nt say very much other than they want to do some blood test to check her liver, they think it might be some kind of fit. They've advised me to go back to behavior classes again, which i've done and seen no improvement. Any idea how I can reassure/comfort her?

You may find that if it is fitting/health related (I have never had a dog with this so don't take what I say as the gospel) once that is under control she will settle down.

Dog staring at the wall!! agree with your vet possible liver problems, have they suggested a low protein diet untill results come back?
There is a type of liver disease that affects the brain, good news is the dog can be maintained on a low protein diet.

There was no mention about a low protien diet... but she did mention about putting her on medication to calm her down while outside!

Thankyou again for all your help and advise x
