Crying when playing with squeaky

Hi
My 2 yrs old has just started to cry when playing with a squeaky.
Its a new toy today and she does play with it, she brings it so you can throw it, she throws it up herself. She also shakes it like she would a teddy.
But when she plays with it she is crying all the time. If it is on the floor she looks at it and cries, also cries when its in her mouth.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
My first border collie used to do this when she was about to come into season & again a few weeks afterwards. It was a hormonal thing.

Well, normal gestation is 63 days, so it could be she thinks she should have had pups! Has she shown any other mum-ish behaviour?

My 2 aren't allowed to have squeaky toys, they do the same thing but in their mind what they are doing is 'killing' the toy. They shake it around + cry + work into a right frenzy, so they don't have them.

Not saying that's what yours is doing but that's what mine do
