luna is officially a little woman!

HI ALLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's been awhile since i have been on the forum!! how is everybody keeping!!??!!

as you read from the title my wee lunss is having her first season,at 9 months.. its been about a week so far... she hasn't changed abit... still her mellow self..being a good girl.! so good she cleans her own wee drops on the kitchen floor after herself! lol...
ok now my concern is...as you know skye now 1.6years is neutered! i'm well aware they can still do the 'business'..but obviously nothing will come of it.. and he showing no signs of interest so far and hoping it will stay that way!.. i say that as my mums neutered terrier hounds the rottie when shes on heat and whines and whines all day..and pants all day long and is forever restless!! and tries to hump her...
do you think skye will change when she is at her peak next week??? he is having the odd sniff round her butt andwhat i'f i'm not about to seprate them if they try to 'get it on',.. should i separate them completely in a few days time or just let them 'do it' if it happens between them when i'm now about? (like i wouldn't know if they did anyway)
i really dont likes the thought and dont want it to happen..mmm??? but at the same time and dont wanna seprate them when i'm at work..are tippers??
thanks
ps i'm prob just making a moutain outta a molehill!
jennie

pps...i will be having luna spayed after this season!

Ooooh I know just what you are going through

Tilly had her first season at 7 1/2 months. Boris wasn't really interested till the third week 'danger zone'. Took our eyes off them for one seond + he had mounted her + they tied (thank God we'd had Boris neutered!!!)

We didn't separate them, would have caused WW3, they are inseperable. Just kept a closer eye on them (if that was possible )

It was very stressful, but at least you know if he does get at her nothing will come of it.

Good luck xxx

sami is a jewel in the rough
Max was less than a year old when Sami had her 2nd season and showed no interest at all. We thought we were going to get away with it (he wasnt neutered). Sami had trouble with her seasons and it ended up going on for 6 weeks. The vet was adamant she wouldnt be able to get pregnant. end of the 6th week we cam in to find one big long dog with 2 heads!! Vet was still adamant she couldnt be pregnant. She had 8 pups!!!

Good luck I think you are in for a rough ride!!
