Kira was dry (and clean) at night from ten weeks - she was crated at night and after the first couple of nights was always clean and dry. She was in her crate from about 11pm to 7am.

wow i think that is extremely fast-well done you!
marley is 6 months/24wks next friday and has been able to let us know he wants to go out for either in the day since he was about 5 months.but when i am out or at night he still does it on the paper.however he has been waking us up at all hours so last night we thought we would try not putting paper down and this morning there was nothing till i let him out at 7am and that was a lomg wee.he did go to bed later-11pm as its usually 10.30ish and water went up at 8ish(although i hate doing this).
it's not a problem if he needs lomger i was just wondering as a guide line really.

since i posted we have just not put the paper down and he has held himself each night from 10.30/11 until 6-6.30 is.
so i reckon when he was barking to wake us it was becaus he had gone on the paper.
he probably would have gone through the night at around 5 months then it was just us miss reading it.

About six months.

Archie was crated, but until 6 months he would frequently need the loo at about 2am. And then he'd yowl to let us know about it, and we would get up and take him out and that was that. There were only a couple of accidents. After that, he slept through the night, for the most part.

Sometimes, when he has an upset tum in the night, he will bark to let me know to get him up. He's never had diahrrea in his bed, bless him, he holds on until I get there to sort him out. He has puked a couple of times though, but he couldn't really help that.

We never took the water up though. Still has a water bowl in his crate that I fill every night.

This the exact reason I dont like the paper or pads method.

You train a dog to pee on the paper and then have to train them again to stop.

Glad its worked out for you now.
