Working from home?
I am looking for help from anyone else who works from home.... I walk Jazz 3 times a day.... and she is with me in kitchen/family area .... but its tough. Even after a 30 min walk its kitchen worktops, kids toys, bin, cushions etc etc She bit through my laptop cable on Sunday.... I would laugh if I wasnt crying by that stage.
So how have those who work at home trained/worked at getting their pups/dogs to settle when you are at home 'working'. Other than 3 hours on a tues morning I am with her all day Mon and Wed - the OH is meant to be in charge Thurs and Fri but I am still about - although hiding in my office.
Any tips..... especially on getting her to settle (I can almost hear the laughter) but if not settle.... what have you done/learned that makes working on phone/laptop possible while your dog is around...
(other than crating her...)

I have times where I work from home, and to be honest I don't know what I did, but Ozzie will just see me getting the paperwork out and he just either sits right next to me, or he will go and lie by the front door where he can still see me. He has always been like this. I think I am very lucky with him. If he does want a play or starts getting fidgety, I will spend 10 to 15 minutes playing mind games with him, hiding his toy for him to find etc or do a bit of training and he is happy again! As long as he is by me or can at least see me he isn't bothered!

Wait another few months!!!
Sorry I know thats not much help!!!
Try to teach her the "go and lie down" command and then try to ignore her. If she is anything like Sami was she is probably just a bit of a hyper puppy still. I dont think you will ever get her to leave you alone completely but with time they do settle more easily in between walks.
She is still very young, I think it will come with time.

I would teach her a command like Tracy said, with ellie its "crate" her crate is left open and she will settle down on her bed in there
You could try stuffing a kong and giving her that to occupy her a bt
once she gets used to the routen she should be fine,

Awwww bless ya. I work from home sometimes, + my 2 go + snuggle up together when they know I'm busy, even when I'm ironing or doing house things.
I think it's all about learning that they get your attention when you say, not when they say. They have to learn the difference between your time + their time. Doing naughty things is an attention seeking ploy I think.
How to deal with it? She has to learn that when you tell her to go lay down/crate/whatever you choose, you mean it + there's no arguing. In a way it's back to basics, but it will work. I spend random times playing/walking/mind games, never set times for anything, + I choose what we play!!! The rest of the time they know I'm busy, they lay down + wait till I decide when we can play again.
Good luck xxx

She could be teething at that age too, hence the chewing, although not necessarily.
Make sure she has something she should be chewing when you go in to work. As Beki says a filled kong will keep her occupied or a filled bone or something else she will enjoy but can also reileve her teething pains if she is.

I don't work from home, but Dempsey does come to work with me. He settles very well, but that's cause he has a routine. As soon as my son leaves for school I get ready for work. Then I take Dempsey for a long walk, usually about 40 minutes walking on lead & about 20 minutes chasing a ball/frisbee/tug toy. By the time I get to work he's happy to settle in the crate I have under my desk. I used to just have a doggie bed there, but he chewed through 2 printer cables, the speaker cables, and the internet cable!
