Kaisers aggression

Havnt took the boys out yet for their lead walk but took them on the field to play, out of nowhere this lab appeared and Kaiser was extremely aggressive with it for no reason, Kaiser just charged up and tried to dominate by growling biting the labs back and basically trying to floor it!
The owner had just locked her car up and saw the whole thing happen.
I was horrified as was she.
I apologised and she accepted, no damage done(thankfully)
He was playing fetch with the ball at the time and there were no other dogs around apart from Troy my Lab.
The lab is a yr old and entire male.
Any advice appreciated
This happened at lunchtime today.
I have also noticed aggression from Kaiser towards other dogs whilst on the lead when they come up to sniff/say hello, he has never been like this ever until recently.
He has and still goes to 3 different dog training clubs since he was 8 weeks old and he is 2 on the 11th february and entire.

Don't know about you, but as my boy got older, I started to notice changes in myself rather than him. I started to get a bit more apprehensive when other dogs were about, started to perhaps envisage what might happen if I couldn't handle a situation, etc etc.

I know 100% that he's picking this up from me, he knows I'm apprehensive, + reacts differently to SOME other dogs than he would have done when he was a happy-go-lucky puppy, if that makes sense.

I'm working on it, but I just mention it as it's taken me some time to realise the problem lies with me

Not for a min I'm suggesting the prob lies with you hun, that's just my story + how I'm coping

Ozzie has recently got very protective over me! He will be 2 in may, and for the last 3 to 4 months he has got very protective of me! Doesn't happen with my oh, but with me he will "warn" other dogs and people if they approach to fast or unaware to him! Depending on the "threat" it will be a growl or a bark!

Could be the ball though! Sorry, waffle and crazy talk now! I'm sure others will advise you better!

The ball wasnt anywhere near the lab infact Kaiser actually left the gameas soon as he saw him.
Kaiser is entire yes but im looking into this chip castration that lasts for 6 months to try and stop/reduce his behaviour.
Its just not like Kaiser. x

I make myself take deep breaths, + tell myself it's my job to protect B + T. I can handle most dogs, but bullbreeds scare the crap out of me, ironic isn't it

If I'm coming up to a situation I know I won't be able to handle, I turn away + walk in another direction. I think it also depends what frame of mind I'm in, some days I can rule the world + some I'm completely the opposite

You need to think + believe you can deal with any given situation

No Hon
Thats great advice
But like I told Anni the ball was no where near and Kaiser had left the play
Kaiser was bit quite badly just before xmas by a terrier and it did cross my mind this could be it but he has only recently shown aggression on his lead and today off lead, this is a first!
He does normally go off to play with other dogs (like the chase) but has never been aggressive
x

You know Tracey, I think thats it
Because im feeling apprehensive when other dogs are around Kaiser is picking up on my emotions and tension.
I am his protector.
A friend did say when approaching dogs to give him a quick check and say leave in a firm voice so he gets like a warnig beforehand.
I will try to believe in myself.
I had to grab Kaisers collar to pull him off and honestly thought I might have got bit, it was that bad.
Maybe some strong ground rules being reinforced at home will help and a long line. xxx

Sounds very much like Ozzie is behaving! He is uber protective of me! I constantly have to reassure him that I am okay and he doesn't need to warn off every dog and person that comes within 100 feet of me! I just use "leave" an awful lot with him! Or "don't you you bloody dare!!!!" lol! With the attack, Ozzie has been beaten up too, and I think this has exasperated the problem. He is good with dogs he knows at class, but is very much "on guard" otherwise!
