Strange Behaviour?

Our 19 month old Sienna showed some strange behaviour this evening and I'm not sure why?
My Dad came over as he does every Friday, and Sienna is normally fine with him. This time I was late from work and I wasnt home when he arrived.
When he came in my wife said she was very submissive and wouldnt go near him, not even to take the treats he always brings her.
She hid behind my wife and laid flat on the floor when he went near her and then wee'd slightly.
As soon as I came home she changed completely and went up to my dad to get her treat. She then went up to him and nudged him when he was eating his dinner for a bit of his chicken. She then lied down next to him when he was sitting on the floor and went to sleep!
It's obviously something to do with me not being there at first but why would she act like this?

Perhaps she feels more confident when you are there.

My bitch displays sort of similar behaviour she's quieter when only me is there + massively boisterous when OH comes home
