I have a bitch who is usally very good with other dogs, she just ignores them and plays with her ball, she never ever chases after other dogs but one time, a week or two before her season was due, she flew off down the park after some other bitch and had a pop at her for no reason - I was absolutely mortified. It may just be, as already suggested, that she may be coming into her first season.
I also have a 9 month male who at about 6 months strated to get a bit iffy with some other dogs so it could just be age - luckily his problems haven't esculated but he has never been interested in plaing with other dogs other than the other 2 which I have and I think his reaction is mainly due to pushy dogs who come bounding over just wanting to play with him, as he pays no attention to most dogs.
I would just keep an eye on her for next few weeks, it may just be a phase. Above all stay calm- - if she can feel you tense around other dogs, she will most likely react to your tension.

What I will say is you need to stick with one method, the more you keep changing the less impact the technique has. So if she shows aggression, turn and walk her away, get her attention back on you and praise when she's calm, then try and walk forward again. Also is she food motivated? Sometimes food doesn't work cos the reward isn't high enough value, I have found liver cake is the one with my boys and they will ignore everything if I have that in my hand which has enabled me to build from there.
It's really hard when you lose confidence but you need to try to keep calm and not let your tension run down the lead, it's hard I know.
It's definitely an age thing....the dreaded teens
I would keep up with basic obedience, now is the most important time to keep reinforcing the commands with her and don't worry they do come out of this stage....keep ya chin up...xxx

Liam, they're home-made. Just blitz up some liver in a blender, a couple of eggs, 3 cloves of garlic to a stinky milkshake consistency. Then add some flour to bind it to resemble a cake mix. Bung in a greased tin and bake at 180 for 30 mins. Voila!
Lynn makes special ones though don't you Lynn?

Liam honest it is the easiest thing to make, get the OH to do it if your really that bad.
I only put one garlic clove in though as any more than that gives her an upset tummy!
BACK TO TOPIC...... Im sure its an age thing and quite possibly season is coming so just be extra vigilant with her and stay firm & confident is all I can say.... Good luck xxx

Thanks for the advice..you are right,I do tend to tense a lot when we approach other dogs on the pavement..I'll try the liver cakes although she is not so keen on liver, usually I mix it with lots of mince..still worth a try..
