update on maya and canny colllar..

Hello everyone..Maya's aggression towards other dogs when on leash was getting pretty bad ,I was struggling a lot to get her attention so I decided to try a canny collar..it arrived yesterday and I was really impressed..she tried to get it off a few times but she is getting use to it..I was amazed ..it is so much easier to get her attention so I can reward her for being quite when we approach other dogs and I feel much more in control, she didn't even bark!! just wandering if anybody else tried it?do you think is it ok to train her this way?

hi we tried one with our boy taz. it worked for a couple of days then he back to square one we use a halti now as you can pull it to shut the mouth and stop his barking.

I suppose it it like most things, even herbal medicine ..... some suit and work well for the individual, while others don't.

So if it works for you and your dog, that is what matters. Plus at least you have the suggestion of an alternative if not.

PS. Hope this will suit and work for your dog.

We currently use a Gencon for our 2 gsd's, but the trainer at our dog class mentioned the canny collar. This may sound like a stupid question, but do you have to measure your dog's head, if so, how, as they come in all sorts of sizes.

Thanks for the link, I will certainly have a look. They look a lot better than the Gencon.
