Blitz free to a good home!!
Or he will be soon lol!!
Me and OH are sleep deprived and for want of a better phrase p***** off!
Night before last neither of us got much sleep, then we were woken up at 5 am with me saying my leg felt wet... Blitz had been sick on the bed... excellent.
We both jumped up, grabbed the spare duvet and went back to sleep to sort it later.
When we got up later we found he had pooed at the bottom of the stairs and ripped up a takeaway menu into tiny pieces, he had also been ripping at the kitchen floor again. After all this it was my intention to lock him in the kitchen for the night last night but I went to bed at 8 as I was so shattered and I hadn't told the OH to do it so....
This morning we are crabby after another crap night when all of a sudden a funky smell appears, I thought it was the cat as her tray is in the bedroom as that's where she spends most of her time. I figured I could jump up and spot clean it when Dan said, don't move, its on the bed.
Little bugger had pooed on the bed. As well as this, he has been digging at the carpet and ruined it.
Really really fed up guys! He is taken out pretty much every hour when we are in, last night was no different and he was out this morning before he pooed on the bed.
Before I get up peoples noses, Blitz isn't going to be rehomed, not now or ever but you know when you could just strangle them???!?!!?!?
Have we started the teen phase early? xxx

What about trying to crate him. Then any mess or destruction will be confined to the crate. It must be awful being sleep deprived as it amplfies everything. Fingers crossed it improves for you soon.

We tried crating him Tracy but he really howled, it was the most noise he ever made he hated it. We tried a few times but we could hear him down the street, he got so distressed and upset it was just too much.
Maybe we should have perservered but I can't see him ever taking to it.
xx

Aww Lucy how awful for you, it's odd that he has started this behaviour I can't offer an explanation I'm afraid.
I know the crate didn't work before but what about trying again and using a DAP plug thingy... I've never used one but hear they are quite effective xxx

Sometimes you`ve got to trod through the bad to get the best. I know when things aren`t going to plan every second can seem like an hour but it`ll be worth it once he gets used to it and settles.
What about just leaving the crate door open for him to explore it, try putting his fav toy in it and make it all cosy like his wee den. Then build up to closing the door for short spells with lots of praise given too. I`m not sure how old he is but hopefully being older he`ll learn quicker to associate the crate as being HIS and he`ll settle.
Buy some earplugs and prewarn the neighbours I know we all love our hairy babies but they can sometimes try the patience of a saint.

Did you try making the crate a nice place to be?? as in maybe sending him into it with a favourite toy or pizzle stick/tripe stick ect but leaving the door open, maybe even lay down there with him to make him realise it isnt a punishment to be caged,he will get used to it,you just have to make sure that you persist and make sure he gives in before you do

We had his food bowls and water bowls in there and he got a treat everytime he went in, he would go in but as soon as the door was closed he howled.
I'm just past it because he knows what he is supposed to do and he just seems to be purposely being naughty.
I don't understand the thought process behind doing it on the bed!!

Oops, I see he is still a baby. I`d go back to basics and use the crate to set boundaries. I wouldn`t feed him in it. Do you have set feeding times for him? I know when they`re so young it seems like they pee and poo all the time (ok Spyke did) but we stuck with set feeding times which regulated his body clock.

Yes Tracy, he is coming up to 17 weeks - 4 months-ish.
Just a few days ago everything was fine, we still take him out on the hour so he wasn't having many accidents, accidents we can handle but not when he does them on our bed.
He is a nibbler, I know many people think that is bad but I don't want to starve him so he just grazes through the day, when he is given raw he chomps it immediately so he will be on set meals soon when biscuits are no longer available to him I guess.
Its a massive step backwards when we thought we had cracked it really!
