Crying at bedtime :(

Hi again everyone, hopefully someone can help me out with this one lol. Zara is 8mths now and has been an absolute dream to crate at bedtime....until a couple of weeks ago!!! When it comes to bedtime she runs in to her crate after her last wee outside, we lock the crate, give her a little treat to reward her (as we've always done) and its lights out. All is quiet for about 10mins then she cries and howls for about half hour. We dont go down to her but with 2 young children upstairs asleep its gettin a bit too much ....could this be seperation anxiety? And if so how can i help her with it?

You dont go down to her,..ok, but do you shout to her?.

It is strange that she has just started this,... are there any changes at all?,..I wouldnt say it is seperation anxiety,..she must know where you are

Maybe when she starts, you shout to her to `lie down` or simular command,...maybe she just needs that instruction

Other than that, I wouldnt do anything, because you are likely to make things worse if you `pamper` to her,..I am sure she should settle down after a while....fingers crossed, and let us know of any change

The only change is....she has gone thru her 1st season! Everything was absolutely perfect b4 that, since she's come thru the season she's been really clingy and the crying at night is just so heart wrenching we just want to go down but know we'll only make things worse. Its so upsetting that she used to go to bed without a murmour and now she's quite happy to wake the neighbours haha!!!

Most likley its because of her season then, how long has she been crying at night? maybe a few more nights of ignoring her will do the trick or maybe give her an unwashed item of clothing belonging to you so she feels close to you if this is what she is wanting..... to be with you ?? xxx

I think I would be doing just what you are doing now,..I dont know what else you could do,.. just call to her from time to time, to reasure her that all is well,....apart from that, just ride it out, I am sure she will settle soon enough
