Mood swings?

Hi all..me again...I was at the local park today with my son, lots of people and kids so I took maya to play with ball in a enclosed area designated for dogs..it was just me and her..after a few hours the park got empty, just a few people with dogs so I decided to let her off to have a run ..and socialize with other dogs..wasn't a good idea as she snapped at two dogs with no reason she was such a pain! luckily she was really good with the recall(I started whistle training and she responds very well)..anyway I had to put her back on the lead and live ..just wondering can dogs get mood swings like humans??or is this the beginning of an issue..I hope not..as I was getting back a bit of confidence!!

Awwww bless ya xxx

Well done with the recall training

If she's not used to mixing with other dogs, the snapping is just her finding her feet. She's just saying 'hey, give me my space, I'm not sure about you yet'

She might just have been a bit out of her comfort zone, but the more she mixes with other dogs, the more comfortable she'll become

You should be proud, you're obviously doing really well with her, well done x

Thanksthe fact is she is very used to meet other dogs just the other day she played very nicely for ages with a golden retriever ..normally she's very good with dogs off lead, she 'll bark at them only when on lead but that' another issue I' m working on.. that's why I mention "mood swings"..as today she was very snappy!

Is she spayed or has she had her first season? The hormone changes associated with seasons can cause "mood swings"/ changes in temperament both before a season and for a couple of months afterwards.
