Question Spayed bitch humping?

My friend's spayed 3 yr old GSD bitch has started humping other spayed bitches and the family cat. Any idea why?

Do they still have humping hormones even after they've been spayed.. was thinking if she should have been in season now so wondered if that was the reason?

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
I would say it's behavioural rather than hormonal.

My 2 year old spayed bitch does this to my older bitch and to our dog, i think its a domination thing rather than hormones.

Makes sense as she was a very bossy dog. She's better now she's being socialised a bit more, previously she had to wear a muzzle as she didn't know how to play and would just bite other dogs if off-lead. She'd pick one out in a group and keep at it.

She tried to hump Zee, was so funny as Zee gave her slap and then chased her.. she didn't try again!

Nash is an unknown quantity at this point
She is letting the other dogs know that she is alpha bitch in that group. If the other dog thinks otherwise then there will be a stand off and weak one will back off. It's just her temperament, the owner needs to be aware of this and not let it get out of control.

I have a spayed bitch that loves to hump but it has nothing to do with domination, in her case just think she enjoys it

Look as long as she writes, calls or texts the other dogs afterwards to explain why she does not want to see them again and that " it's not them,it's her " I don't see a problem with it...

Interesting, Storm, the bitch in question playfights more with Ella and humps her, but runs off when Zee instigates play with her. Ella is a more nervous temperament than Zee. And if Storm and Ella are having a spat, Zee will intervene and tell off the one doing the bossing, like a peace-maker. Does that mean Zee is alpha?
