Resource Guarding

As you know Diva's a (play)biter, especially towards me as my OH can just tell her a firm NO and she stops but that doesnt work with me
Anyway lately she has been jumping up and biting me more when he's around, ie when it's just me and her she's fine and forever seeking cuddles but as soon as he's with us, her jumping and biting starts and can escalate quite quickly, even to the point when he struggles to keep her off me as she gets into some sort of red zone...This may sound silly but I was wondering whether he is her fav person and she is 'resource guarding' him, ie protecting him from me?! Any thoughts welcome!

I'm not sure as to why she does this so I can't offer any advice sorry. I would personally not allow this behaviour to me or anyone. I would probably turn my back and either ignore or walk out room with whoever is there and leave her on her own. No attention and left on her own might work! I will be interested to see other peoples views as this is not something I have had too deal with! Goodluck! I hope you get the answers you need and get this sorted!

This sounds so familiar lol, although with me Frankie does this when oh is about or not, but if he tells her no it goes and then she comes and does it to me

feel for you and sorry i havent got an answer for you but got a feeling im going to be in same situation in a few months so hopefully someone will have an idea.

I do think its all about domiance though and you have to switch it, how? im not sure

The advice about turning around and walking away is all well and good, but when they have their teeth sunk into your trousers or cardy etc... its easier said than done lol

When I was on my own with her, I would not give her lots of cuddles (cruel mummy).
Also make her earn your time and cuddles.
Play when you want to not Diva.
It's hard to ignore a baby, but she will respect your time more ,if you do.
I had the same thing with Jazmin, daddy was God, when he got home, I turned into her toy.
But it was me that always gave her time out.
It took awhile, just a part of growing up. imo.
Hope things get better soon, "they will"

Totally agree!! If you turn around, she will only go and grab my legs or bum! and if you try to walk away, it's not easy with a dog latched onto you! Somehow you have to grab her jaw to get her off before you leave the room and this reinforces her will to bite so not easy at all! We are working on it but it seems we'll never see the end of it, especially as far as Im concerned!

We have her on a house line and if she starts biting, I grab the lead but she gets silly and goes down on the floor and grabs my ankles so I have to actaully struggle to get her off so not a good idea either Im afraid!

I try and close her mouth but she thinks this is a game and when im trying to grab her she jumps from one side of the room to another with teeth showing and the hairs on her back standing up. This doesnt worry me at the moment but shes growing rapidly, shes only 16kg and i can just about handle her (bit of a weakling lol) dread to think once she doubles in size, eeekkkk

she'll sit and chill with me most the time, but as soon as she gets into one of them moods theres no stopping her, i should have called her jekyll/hide.

I'll keep my eye on this post, and say a little prayer for us both and our wardrobe

Sounds like she thinks its a game to me. I can only suggest ignoring her, which I know is difficult when she is hanging off you, but the attention she gets when you are trying to get her off you may be her reward. Or a lound "ah ah" tends to work better than telling them off with too many words.

I suspect she will grow out of it eventually but its painful waiting for it to happen.
