Distructive when Desprate

Cara goes in the kitchen when we go out as she is still a crazy baby and will just go mad and trash the house playing if we leave her out (we tried) BUT everytime we go out we take her to the loo first and try to get her to do "both" before we come back in and she has to stay in the kitchen (longest she stays in there is a max of 3 hours) anyway if she hasnt been for a poohpooh when we get back she has ripped the floor up and trashed her bed BUT she doesnt seem to think anything is wrong with it!

what can i do??
help please

thanks
love sam

nisbreagha has a spectacular aura about
Id crate her, then she will be less likely to do the loo in her space and there is only whats in the crate to trash so you won't be frustraed when you get back. 3 hours is an ok length of time to leave them in a crate and as long as its not used for punishment it can become a nice safe warm and pretty much your dogs bedroom somewhere they like to go. My lot all still use their crates and go in of their own accord, I dont lock them in them and had put them away but had brought them out recently as we were getting a wee visitor so I like to get the crates out as she like to sleep in hers and I liek to have a way of seperating them if required. well I had brought the big one out and before i even had it up Froo was trying to get in it and now she is in it all the time so they do like them if sued properly and I do thinm they create so much less stress when traing a puppy as you know they are safe and wont trash things so you don't lose your temper or get stuff ruined.

I was thinking do you use a command word for her to 'go'? Maybe you need to attach a word to when she poo's so you can ask her to do that before you go out?

This is what I would do as well. Kira still uses her crate a lot although the door is open - although I did take to shutting her in when my grandchildren were eating or running around as the temptation to take food when it is waved under her nose is too great and although she is pretty careful around them their little faces are just at face-licking height and my grandson is allergic to dog lick!

Chewing is a very natural thing to do, it is a pleasent thing to do..think like a dog,..what else could floor covering possibly be for??,... and no dog should ever be punished for doing it, only trained out of it
I would also train for the crate, a crate is a wonderful tool if used correctly

Kirk is a similar age to Cara (just under 14mths) and also goes in the kitchen when we go out. When I go out I make sure that there are loads of toys thrown in different areas of the kitchen and also give him his filled Kong. I also leave the radio low on as well as I sometimes wonder if it is noises outside that get him a bit riled and that starts the behaviour.

The only thing that he will destroy if left for longer than a couple of hours is my rattan kitchen chairs I have now started to move these out of the room as the bottoms of them are ruined and I don't want to get new ones until his chewing stage is over. In the past he has also chewed two corners of my table

YES SHE ONLY CHEWS IF SHE HASNT POOED!! lol
crazy i know but true!!
she has the "go poopoo" command and goes as soon as i say it but now and then she just fluffes about and comes back in!
she has all the toys in her house in the kitchen with her and food and treats and all sorts but her bed, the wall, and the floor just seem more appealing to her! lol
as for crating sorry but its just my opinion and its a big NO NO, hampsters and rabbits live in cages not dogs! PLEASE DONT GO MAD OVER THAT COMMENT its only MY opinion!
but thanks for the advice though
