Obsessive dog
Has anyone got any ideas on how to break this obsession My foster is a lovely girl but has a realy obsession with Bobby and follows him everywhere there seems no aggression and I think she wants to play but has no idea how to do it she is lovely with people very gentle she is supervised all the time with Bob just in case i don't think she is realy showing any signs of wanting to hurt him what does everyone else think I wish she wasn't so intense she is very intelligent and I think she is going to make a fantastic dog something special sorry the video is not a good quality and is side ways on I don't know how to change it

That to me looks like a little bit of dominace (the way her tail is held and she is almost stranding over him), but certainly she wants to interact with him, but is unsure of how to.
If it were me, I'd stop it, as Bobby looks a tad uncomfortable with it.

Strange you should say that, because Sam does the very same thing to our cat,..and he seems to love the cat,...I am watching this thread, because I would like to stop Sam,..I can tell him to leave and he will,....until he thinks he can get back to doing the same

She looks like she doesn't know what to do, whether she wants to play or what but that tail is up until the end of the video then she looks like she is relaxing a bit. Bobby isn't happy though is he.
I wouldn't have a clue how to stop it. She looks like a nice looking girl. Hope she gets a good home (and Bobby some peace of course )

We can get Sam to stop simply by saying `leave`,.. but he is so intent on the cat that he is back doing it as soon as your back is turned,..I really dont think it is dominance

I honestly think she is totally confused by him.
Is he castrated?
She is keeping her nose round his back end as though she is trying to figure out his scent.
The fact that he does not have a tail may be confusing her as well - she cannot 'read' his body language, he cannot raise or wag his tail.
It is almost as if she is trying to figure out if he is a puppy or an adult, his size would indicate to her that he is a pup, yet he is acting like an adult.
Is she ever around when he has a wee? If so what does she do then?
Right at the end of the video she licks her lips and keeps looking/glancing sidelong at him which is a sign she is feeling stressed/unsure of him, and is trying to appease him, plus she never looks directly at him (to meet his gaze).
You could try stopping it by working them together, try putting them into 'sits' and 'downs' and give them both tasks to do, rather than leaving them to their own devices when they are together.
If she sees him behaving like a 'normal' dog she may loose her fascination with him.

She does seem fascinated by him doesn't she, although he doesn't seem all that comfy with her being so close all the time....

Who's the daddy!
After watching the vid clip I can see the opposite to what happens in our house and garden.
Jacob the chihuahua follows keira around all the time but this isn't a problem it's just so funny to watch.
Jacob grooms keira when she's lying down and this can go on for ages.
Keira on the other hand will slap her one paw across his body to pin him down then groom him to such an extent you'd think poor jacob had been for a bath.
Very funny and lovely to watch, absolute 5* entertainment.
