The Ouch story!!

This morning myself and the woofington microblades took a trip to our woods where there are small shoots of trees beginning to grow..

Both of the dog's enjoy having a knaw on these shoots and tugging away at them trying to release them from the ground and carry them around with them as a victory prize.

Now in the tugging and pulling process Skye got way to close to titon pulling the other way and BAM he let go of the stick and it smacked skye full force right in the chops! and she let out only a small yelp!

I had to turn away from her as i didn't want to re-inforce what had just happened. She instantly came over to me and sat by my side looking extremely sorry for herself

I told her to get the stick and off she went quite happily and after a few minutes i checked her nose and not a mark on her! It really does amaze me how strong and hardy these dog's are. Any-one had similar ouch moments with their dog's?

It was jaw dropping! I didn't want to instantly check her over incase she then became scared of the woods or something... but i was expecting some sort of injury! That sort of force on a human would have easily broken our nose and knocked us out!

xx

Lol, bless her.

They are a hardy bunch aren't they (Harley was a BIG exception to this rule when he was younger - he'd yelp at anything lol).

Jess didn't even yelp when this was done to her on Friday by another dog...

She's healing well thanks. The wound is getting a fair bit smaller, and the skin is starting to go dead on the edges, so all good with that thankfully.

Mentally she doesn't seem as bad as last time either which is brill.

We had a serious ouch moment when Lucy was 4 months old, i let her out of the side door of the van and then threw it back too (the door is heavy and closes at speed) just as it was closing she stuck her head back in and it closed on her muzzle.

I have never heard a dog cry in pain like it before it made me feel physically sick and really scared me, she had a mouth full of blood and she cried and clung to my side for at least a minute, i was sure it had smashed her jaw.

Unbelievably she was back to her boisterous self within 5 minutes, albeit with a lump the size of a golf ball on her jaw, to this day if the door moves slightly as she is getting in or out she stops. She has never forgotten it and nor have I!

Nis is a big baby and if she gets hurt she let's you know, she crystal like a baby when I even bring the ear drops out, Froo on the other hand is hard a nails! She has sliced her paw open I don't know how many times, snapped her tooth in half and god knows what else and it doesn't bother her in the slightest she's the kind of dog that of she were ever to get a fish hook stuck in her would let me slice open the skin to get it out and wouldnt complain would just trust me. However the hardest dog I own has to be my JRT she's just like a little landrover she can scale a hill side in seconds, scrape herself to bits in the undergrowth, cut her ears and laws chasing rabbits etc and doesn't care a bit She has no fear and rarely feels anything! But that's terriers for you

They are amazingly tough when they want to be.
Ted will wimper when I put his eye drops in because they have just come out of the fridge and they are cold.
However, the other day I hit him full on in the face with the ball chucker when he got in front of me and I was going for the olympic gold in ball chucking.
He looked up at me squinting as if to ask why I had just done that, then legged it off after the ball anyway.
He didn't make a sound or a fuss but I was distraught!
