Puppy biting

Hi,

Please can anyone advise me about my 11 week GSD puppy biting. First thing in the morning she is gorgeous and loving but after about ten minutes she turns into a nasty crocodile which then lasts all day. She is not just teething she means business and draws blood. We have tried so many things and don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions welcome ASAP!!

Its difficult to advice on a dog we cant see, but the chances are that the pup is doing this for attention,..and any thing you do gives him that attention, so when you shout at him,.... go ouch,.... or simply shout out in pain, that is reaction.

Dogs hate to be ignored, I think the best course of action is to do nothing towards the pup,..instead of you putting him out [ if thats what you have tried ],..you remove yourself,.. just get up say nothing and leave the pup alone

all pups do this they communicate with their mouths and until they get their second teeth they have not developed controlled bite pressure.
this can happen until maybe 6 months old, but as mentioned the loud ouch! can help. our penny is 6- 1/2 months now and is just about getting it right now. regards pennys dad

Welcome to the forum

As said above, if they bite, a LOUD 'OUCH', and if needed a few more, if that does not work, try turning your back on her and totally ignoring her for a couple of minutes, consistency is the key here, it won't happen over night but she will get improve after a few days.
