Please don't quote me on ALL sedation! However, my friend had been to an 'old school' vets, had prescribed a nasty solution to the same dog for Demedectic Mites, the poor little girl was as mad as a hatter 48 hours after, it seemed this solution had been far too strong, gone into the blood stream and created a monster, she was a mess! So, when she finally decided to leave she moved over to my vets (whom I would move for if he ever did!) and he told me what I have said in my previous post! Scares you silly!

Thanks so much for telling me, it's really appreciated!!! Thank god there are some vets out there that don't just prescribe tablets at the drop of a hat.

Ben has collie in him too so maybe it is a collie thing.
Sound's like a horrible experience for your friend and the dog.

I've got the worst night coming up. Just 5 mins away from me is my local football club where i work. Well every year the ground is used for a huge firework display. Its a great sight but unfortunatly the band=gs are HUGE!! This year I am working so I wont be home with my poor boy!! I cant take the night off coz it is a huge night (mega busy on bar) we are short staffed anyway. I have to pray that Jack will settle with my hubby who doesnt have the same bond as Jack and I (I rescued him from a male who beat him)
Never mind the dog, I'm going to be a nervous wreck!!!!

A good friend of mine has a little JRT that suffers badly with loud bangs and the like, the best thing she found was to interact with her with the TV on fairly loud, as opposed to the radio. Ensure lots of play, goodie balls etc are on hand, and also make a den so they can retreat if they want to!

Very good advice Jo, I agree about not sedating your dog, omg if a dog is any worst than I was when I came round from GA, I was one moody itch
