Both our GSD's are 7 months old. We have a bitch and a dog. Both ours eat each other's poo as well as their own if you are not watching them carefully. We have also tried tablets and pineapple, which did not work. We have sometimes caught them sniffing each others botty when they are about to poo, which is very disgusting and we shout leave it to them, for which they do. I have never thought of banana's.

What is she eating atm out of interest?

Having looked on the net it appears that steroids affect the normal absorption of potassium/sodium/calcium, so it looks quite likely that this is the problem! Have a word with your vet.

Pineapple usually don't work, for they have sour taste which dogs(mostly) don't like it. And about the poo thing, rich in potassium.. Dog's don't know what are the vitamins in the food they eat. LOL!
I think there might be some problems with your dog. Try consulting a vet.
