Just had this through at work and, whatever your political leanings, I think this is quite amusing and spot on..

SING A SONG OF PARLIAMENT,
POCKETS FULL OF CASH,
FRAUDULENTLY CLAIMING
AND ADDING TO THEIR STASH;
WITH THEIR PLOY DISCOVERED
THEY SAID THEY'LL GIVE IT BACK.
IF YOU OR I HAD DONE THE SAME
WE'D PROMPTLY GET THE SACK.

SING A SONG OF FREEBIES,
SNOUTS ALL IN THE TROUGH.
GIVING BACK THEIR ILL- GOT GAINS
IS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
SPONGING OFF OUR EARNINGS
WITH A LIKELY TALE,
IF WORKING FOLK HAD DONE
THE SAME
THEY'D SOON END UP IN JAIL.

SING A SONG OF FRAUDSTERS
COUNTING OUT THEIR MONEY.
THEY SMILE AND LOOK QUITE
UNASHAMED,
AS THOUGH THEY THINK ITS FUNNY;
SITTNG IN A SECRET PLACE,
COUNTING OUT THEIR DOSH,
ON PLUGS FOR BATHS AND
CLEANING MOATS,
FOR CRISPS AND ORANGE SQUASH.

SING A SONG OF MP's
WHO TOOK US FOR A RIDE.
IT'S UP TO US ELECTION TIME
THEIR FUTURE TO DECIDE.
IT'S GONE TOO FAR TO BRING BACK TRUST
OF ANYONE IN POWER.
TO MOST OF US THEY'LL ALWAYS BE
A SHIFTY, CROOKED SHOWER.

You should try living in Queensland. The state government held an early election and then proceeded to break every promise they made in the election and have started selling off state assets. Queensland was one of the richest states in Australia because of the mines...but no-one can work out why it's gone broke.......Politicans are the same the world over

The thing that really grates for me is that about 4 years ago we had a routine Inland Revenue inspection (before they merged with customs & VAT to become HMRC) and the woman sat and picked over receipts for our expenses claims for fuel, that amounted to no more than a grand for the whole of the tax year. She picked and picked until even her colleague got fed up with her and starting giving off very unsubtle signals that he was happy with our claims and PAYE etc and wanted to leave.

It pi**es me off that we could have been fined and/or prosecuted if a problem HAD been discovered when all those bloody frauds in Westminster are being let off with a light slap and just 'pay back the money'.

Grr I better stop before I become completely enranged and stuck on my soapbox

LOL it does sound a bit like that doesn't it?

I'll be honest I'd never condone violence to get a point across but I do admire the French and their civil disobedience. We seem, to me anyway, to moan a bit at laws etc. that we don't agree with but don't actually do anything about them.

Just my opinion
