Jenny gave me the confidence to post this as I found it really funny but was worried that ppl would be offended as it does pigeon hole nations


Last month a world-wide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was:-

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure because of the following:

In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

In the US they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

And Finally...........................

In Australia, they hung up, because they couldn't understand the Indian accent.

Here in Canada if you call the telephone company (Bell Canada) and tell them you want English the call is transferred to a call center in India. English as a second language, ya that works when you have technical Qs that you need an answer for.

I ask for French then I get transferred to a call center in Quebec. These people at the call center in Quebec speak English and French.

And that's the way it is.
