Puppy Names!

Hiya. You may have seen my other thread on raw feeding. If not, i'm getting a little boy puppy in a few months! I swear I've been through every name in existence and nothing that I like would suit a shep :P

How did you all choose names for your doggies?

I quite like the norse side of things, but Odin/Thor are very common... I like Ragnar, but it's a bit weird and I'd look like a loon shouting that in the park haha.
Either that or something hispanic would be cool lol! (Gomez, come!)

It's getting closer and closer I don't think i'll ever be able to choose a name

Never had that problem myself as my rescues have been named by the people looking after them and as their names were the only things they knew I didn't like to change them.

Will your little boy be short or long haired and what colouring?

I was reading this article on dog names in the paper last week but nothing really jumped out at me

My last dog was called Borman (already came with that name), imagine the stares I used to get shouting his name (I'm sure a few people muttered "f****** nazi" at the sight of us).
I am going to call my next dog Oi!, because at the end of the day it's what the puppy ends up being called most of the time anyway!

the kids named Fly he was named after the dog from 'Babe', For Tikaani we googled dog names, wolf names, bitch names and made a long list of ones we liked, then made a short list of the best ones and decided from that.

Haha! I always wanted a border collie called Fly because of that too..

He's going to be long haired, and I'm not sure yet, maybe blanket/bicolour/solid black. Might end up falling in love with a saddle black and tan though! Depends on who's personality jumps out at me (There are a few people waiting for solid black boys so that's less likely)

Hmm might just go on google translate and find a cool foreign word for something :P

Chris my partner picked Zeus's name (Greek God and also seen one on a Police dog tv programme), but if we'd got a female I was going to call her Frejya - researched German female names.... however a male we got so "Frejya" is on hold lol.
I also have 2 chocolate labs - Coco and Galaxy! Perfect I think!
I too saw the Daily Mail article and have kept it for a friend who has just got a Westie and called him Alfie - number 1 dog name in the UK at the mo according to Pet Insurers!
Good luck in chosing a name...

I would like two sheps, one called Loki (God of Mischief) and the other Thor (God of Thunder) :-D

I've chosen them because I think it suits GSD's down to a t! Mischevious given the opportunity and can make one hell of a racket even if it's just running up and down stairs!

I'll decide when I get my first shep which name suits it!
