Question Lola's first car journey

Hi everyone,
As Sunday is Lola's first puppy training session and I am already nervous I am trying to plan everything in advance, just wanted your views on transport, I have 2 options, I can either put her crate in the back of my discovery as I have no guard in the back, or if this is not safe I can use my mums freelander, she has a guard but unfortunately this is at a garage and it is a hassle for me to collect it but will if I need to?

DelsMum has a spectacular aura about
If it were me I'd go for the first option and use her crate, she'll feel nice and safe in there.

I have always used a crate to start with as they seen to feel safer this way! Never had a travel sick dog using this method either!

I always started off has I meant to carry on, so opted to place Olli in the back of our car. We have a Ford S-Max which has a very spacious boot, so no issues in respect of space.

I'd use her crate in the back of your car if possible.

I've got a guard which fixes to my headrests for Olli, not because he tries to join me - far from it, he lies down and goes to sleep, but to prevent him from flying through the car and being injured or injuring someone else if I were ever unfortunate enough to be in an accident.

Halfords | Halfords Advanced Mesh Headrest Dog Guard

(insert finest muttley impression here due to price drop since I bought it!)

Thanks for the replies, I decided to go for the crate which fits nicely in the back of the discovery. We went on a 5 minute journey to the petshop to choose a new collar and lead. Anyway all was fine until the way home, we were just about home when I smelt a horrible smell and thought phew she's trumped, however I soon realised this was no trump and as I pulled up I opened up the car to be met with a crate full of poo and a dog with 4 paws covered in it!! Eugh not nice, my fault for not taking her out before the journey, we live and learn.
