Ever wonder what your vets says about you?

I have just had a copy of Ellies full notes from the vets, makes an interesting read............. And i Quote : "Impossible to examine as lunging at my face and trying to Kill me!!"

hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm This was when she had her pyo and despite me telling the vet i would have to walk her to the kennels as she wouldnt let the vet take her she still tried to take her lead and walk off with her!

Oh my god! can they do that?
Surely vets should understand that the environment itself puts the animals in an uneasy state...... wow i'd love to read titon's notes as he has actually nipped the nurse.

What went through your mind after reading that?! I think i'd be having a word as that is quite unfair.......

I was and still am in disbelief tbh there are a few other snotty comments too.

Thing is they know Ellie is terrified of life in a normal situation n when i speak to them face to face they are really nice and understanding............. or so i thought,

TBH It makes me more wanting to help ellie all that i can to prove to them she is not what they think she is!!!!!!!!

The reason i have her notes is because we are off to see a holistic vet on thursday as he has said he is willing to give us a shot and see if he can help her

For the first time ever I have had a real running with a female vet who decided to shave Lukey's neck to take a blood test - bearing in mind he is a long coat with really thick, thick fur round his neck - BEFORE trying to take a blood test from his front leg.

His neck was nicked in the process and the blood test proved inaccurate because of stress. During the process he didn't even growl!

I had a home vets visit from another vet who clipped away a bit of fur from his leg and took a sample - no probs.

Wouldn't like to think what they have put about me on their notes.

My husband is not well and the whole saga was very stressful for the whole family.

Why won't they listen to us - if there is a breed you have to 'know' it's your German Shepherd who grows to trust you - why won't they trust us when we know our dogs and what they need.

Linda

Vets do have a hard job... Lots of animals with lots of health/behavioural problems, no easy means of communication plus you've got to deal with owners which can be even worse than the animals.

Despite that I still think most vets are a massive rip off

I'm just glad we've got really really chuffin good vets. With the amount of dogs we have its a good job, too!

Sorry that they wouldn't let you lead Ellie down Beki.

Vislor, I know their job isn't easy and owners can be difficult to deal with but you get competent and less competent (that's me being polite) just as in any 'profession'. I think the world of my dog and I don't like to 'let him down' as he is very loyal to me. I'm glad your have good vets. I would have changed mine before now but family illness has meant I haven't been able to do the sort of research I want to do in order to change. Some vets talk down to all owners as a matter of fact. This particular vet 'talked down' to my husband who is a retired research scientist and I don't think she liked the fact he could 'hold his own with her'. Incidentally he is a gentle, mild mannered manner who not have been rude to her.

We were lucky for many years as we 'knew' our vet, not close friends particularly but we got used to be treated fairly well and when you come across ignorance and arrogance it is difficult to get used to. In the end it's not NHS we pay so we should chose.

I can only imagine the horrors of what has been put on Braedens notes

They claim he is underweight, they hate him being fed raw and as for getting bones...

ach well, I can hold my head up high, he is a happy dog and fingers crossed, remains in good health

Tracy..

DelsMum has a spectacular aura about
I expect my vets notes say something like:

1. Jerry Lee complete drama queen. Will sqeak like a girl at a kitten needle.
If you get too close you will receive a very thorough ear wash.
2. Owner more likely to bite than the dog, she's a real pain in the arse who usually tells what she wants before I've had a chance to tell her what we can do. Be warned, if you don't ring her back when you say you will, she stalks you.
3. Shame Del is no longer with us, he was the only one in the family that wasn't any trouble!
