One bowl a day!

Hi all,

Olli is 9 months old, and over the past 3 days he as refused to eat is breakfast. I was going to migrate him over to Orijen from Eukanuba, but will now put this back.

I have reduced is evening meal in an effort to get Olli to eat his breakfast, or at least some of it.

He polishes off is evening meal; no surprise I suppose when he doesn'nt touch his breakfast.

Should I be concerned?

Is it the fact that outside our house after 7pm, it resembles a bombing raid over Baghdad (fireworks), which has unerved him?

He is still active, wanting to play, so no worries there.

Many thanks.

if hes hearing lots of unnerving sounds outside it could be that but mayby he just decided breakfast is not for him (bit like me). if hes polishing off lunch and dinner and ok in every other way i would just increase the other 2 meals until he wants his brekkie again..

eek. different parts of the land me thinks.. we have breakfast lunch and dinner. i think you have breakfast dinner and tea.. dinner= evening meal

read your post wrong.. (late night) was thinking he normally has 3 meals.. dont worry. if hes loving his evening meal i personally would just increase his evening meal to normal size again. if hes fit and healthy and not underweight i wouldnt stress for now

Thanks all for your responses.

I will see how he goes over the next 5 days, and if he wants one meal a day then so be it.

I think it really depends on how you want to go from here - either keep him on 2 meals for life, or reduce to one meal.

If you want to reduce to one meal & he's gone off his breakfast then I wouldn't worry, just keep him on his evening meal only, he's at the right age, now.

Personally I feed twice a day to reduce the possibility of bloat.

Mine get fed once a day, they're not interested in eating any other time, they went to 1 meal about 10 months ish

You just have to go with whatever suits your dog, mine lost interest in brekkie + supper very early on

That's the thing. The individual dog will often make the decision for you!
