The 5am Club

As we're moving from Spring into Summer and it reaches nearly 30c by 7am I've been taking the dogs out before work so am at the dog walking park at 5am.

I thought I'd be the only one up there but there are a group of people I see every day - I call them all the 5am club.

They all know about Addie so we walk around the park in the same direction with a certain distance between us so Addie gets used to their dogs (such nice people).

I've always been a night owl and I never thought the day would come but it's the best time to walk the girls and Ella-Bella does struggle with excercising in the heat as she's getting older.

It's also nice to see so many people who get up so early to do the best thing for their dogs

Sounds like a lovely bunch your 5am club!!! Must be very difficult on the dogs with the heat you get!

Two of the dogs are Queenslanders. Addie is from Townsville and it's hotter up there. You do acclimatize but the humidity is beginning to start (yuk) so another reason for being up so early because it's less humid then plus the dog walking parks have water fountains but if you take them out later in the day they're all exhausted after 20 minutes chasing the ball and I don't like them getting overheated.

On the flip side I have to put a jacket on one of the cattle girls as she starts shivering when it drops below 20C!!

Hi Lynn - yes they're really lovely and so understanding about Addie. I've met some wonderful people over here and most people have more than one dog
